I find it funny too that some people don't know who KRS-One is, but you can't blame people for being born at a certain time. I agree that is why hip hop is wack (at least mainstream), because a lot of people don't know what real lyricists sound like. They grow up listening to bullsh*t and that is the norm for them. Even though many dope lyricists (young and old) are spitting now, the fact that they have little exposure to them makes it hard for people to know about hip-hop outside of the radio and television. When Shawty Lo gets more airplay than Blu, then obviously people who consider themselves hip-hop fans are just unaware of what's going on. Again I'm not hating on Shawty Lo or anything, but I'm just saying that lyrics have taken a back seat to "personas."
