for me in 09 i lean more for Cambatta lyrically, check him out - http://www.mixtapetorrent.com/cambatta-the-visionary - I think all scholar fans will dig this cat, too!!! I was listening to Skyzoo's album (go get it on iTunes if you dont have it, "Corner Store Classic (Remixed) n support a brotha!) right before I listened to Scholars so that wasn't fair to scholar!!!

i would have to agree that that Cambatta was better lyrically than this but i thought this guy has promise... i thought he used the effects a little to much for my taste though...there is much worse on this site.

My Scholar 2cents

Leto (Scholar) is a beast, this dude writes SO many songs all of which are so meticulous in their execution. the dude always has new subjects, always pushing boundaries, trying to be different and move ahead or away from the pack of all the thug gangsta hustlaz, he is never that yet keeps it so street and still accessible to all and very knowledgeable about many area of life. and he does some times keep it light and just fun. he has it all. even trippy poetry surrealist almost views in some cases. very diverse writer who doesn't even write. i have worked with him first hand as you may have noticed i produced the song Hip POP Rock Star. i know him well and he writes in his head with no pad or pen. its crazy i don't know how he does it. not to mention his voice and flows. his voice to me does not sound like but reminds me of and I've told him this. in its distinction, power, clarity, emotion, honesty, truth, I'll say it MLK. you may not agree but that is my opinion. i already feel Leto is one of the greatest talents above ground or under and he will only get better.
