Talib Kwali is tight ass hell. You heard him smash that Gucci track. Dude was tongue twistin. I didn't know he had it in him, but he killed that shit. Way harder than Gucci. Gucci is a song maker, whereas Talib Kwali is a lyricist and song maker. Gucci's flow has gotten better though (on 'Dat's My Life' on that Mr. Zone 6), but he still got a long way to go for people to respect him lyrically. One thing, that I do know is that he is probably the hardest working rapper in the game. Performaces, features, songs (damn near every day), mixtapes, albums. Much ups to Talib though. Dude raw.

Yeah the production he usually raps over is boring, generic or just mediocre but i see it more he actually "WANT" people to hear what he's saying unlike the other pop-hop rappers like the Gucci's, OJ's, Scrappy's, Wakas, Jeezy's, Greezy's, Lil Beezy's, Lil Weezy's, Drizzy's etc. that rap over production that is either over produced or so loud and elaborate you don't really care what the rap song is about if there is somebody rappin.

i think he targets production where its a just a rhythmic beat where he can spit his poetic story over without it being too much of distraction to the message he has to say, yeah he can a club beat, he's demonstrated that many times, but that aint him even though he's fully capable.

Rappers like Talib is becoming a rare but needed art form in the hip hop community and it's sad it's being looked over for some borderline retarded rap phrases, hooks that have as much thought put into it as as a infant teething on an ABC water chew toy, and the whole song being as original as a Latino driving a Honda with a Spoiler.

I mean, its a classic example of North vs South... or at least use to be before shitheads like Drake came on the scene. Northern rap is more focused on the words and message, whereas southern rap is lookin for the bump and grind. I love both and wouldn't change it, but having gone back to some of my old rock roots I appreciate the music behind a song uch more than I have in awhile. Its what makes Em's and Ye's most recent outings really impressive to me. Real rap over real music?? its amazing.
