I think Dead Prez is so socially frustrated that they're not as pensive or thoughtful with some of their lyrics, leading one to believe they're racist and with the lyrics I posted above, one could easily argue that.

I think this flaw of Dead Prez is because they hold race (a method of discernment, obviously with the intent to discriminate) too dear. They should be "Dead Prez" (a group bringing about social awareness and change) first, "black" second. At least, that's what I do ("Marcus" first, "black" second). You feel me? LMAO And they should stop generalizing or at least try to tone it down a bit (lol my mom was a cop).

But on the other side of the spectrum, one could say that the reason they are so set on being -"Dead Prez" (a group bringing about social awareness and change)- is BECAUSE they are black, so that aspect cannot be abandoned. Considering that black people are the ones who need it most in a country like America, where one social status was based on skin color, keeping in mind that in other countries, slaves looked just like their masters. I like to think that white people had slaves because they were lazy, not racist.
