It's funny how whenever someone mentions the word autotune, folks jump on and against T-Pain, like that n*gga invented it or something. After Roger Troutman used an analog version back in the late 80's, mofo's been using a digital version ever since the 90's; Cher, J-lo, Annie Lennox (Eurythmics), a ton of other muthafuckin U.K. bands...and I ain't even in the 2000's yet! Hell, if anyone is to blame for autotunes here in the U.S., then blame Trackmasters! Them n*ggas made an entire sound out of that shit! Bottom line is, n*ggas need to spend less time dissin' the technology, and just stick to dissin' the lame ass artists that have no real talent or those artists wanting to use a hot type of sound just because it's hot when they have no originality of their own. I'm still a Jigga fan, but this autotune beef gotta go.

Auto-tune is hot, its whats saving the hip-pop game and throwing it at the top. Auto-tune helps express another side of a rapper therefore making it instresting to hear. Jay-Z song is tight but it seems like he wants to stand out as the first rebel against autune which in some way i respect.

1st off im goin to say Jay-z is the best rapper alive. he has bigger audience a bigger crowd. jay is a monster. but yall also cant hate on lil wayne and t.pain yea that rogers created the autotune sing but t.pain took it to a whole another level. lil wayne and t.pain aint jus doin rap they hop over bout to make they own genre. it 2009 they jus evolve music. it no longer jus hip hop. Jay can diss autotune his name is big enough. he jus stirr up the game agian. jus like nas did when he said hip hop is dead.

I have a hard time enjoying let alone listening to a lot of the garbage ass bullshit that people are swearing to their GOD is fire. I stopped listening to the radio sometime around 2003, because what I was starting to hear had me with a scrunched up mean mug on my face with a comic book bubble sign hangin over my head saying "WTF?!!" Where's the quality in lyricism? Where did it go? What I hear now is like Dr. Seuss went to a strip club, smoked two J's, downed a fifth of Grey Goose with nothing on his stomach and decided to make music after he left the spot. I don't listen to Hip Hop just so I can bob my head to a bangin ass track (and believe me there are some tracks made in the dirty that definitely make my head bob), but I want to hear and absorb the intricacies of the techniques used by the Emcee (note that I didn't say rapper, because there's a difference between the two.) A rapper needs a hot track to sound good, an Emcee is what makes the track hot. For those that keep blasting how ill the people they love to hear and support are because of the number of units they sold and the chips they stacked, I think you missed the point of what Hip Hop is about. The money is the fringe benefit. The art form itself is the blessing.

The difference between Lil Wayne and T-Pain is, Lil Wayne is a rapper (I think?) And T-Pain is a R&B singer! Autotune dont belong in hip hop period!! Alot of rappers use it now to try and cover up the fact they cant rap.. it's cool for t-pain, it was cool for teddy riley and roger, they are all singers anyway, but for rappers its just corny as hell!!!!
